Like music? Enjoy celebrations? Then Make Music Day is something you might want to explore.  Held each year on June 21 since 1982, this day is designed to be a global celebration of music. In Anderson Township, Third Rock Music Center is partnering with Play It Forward to celebrate the day with a free, outdoor interactive jam.  People of all ages who love music are invited to stop by Third Rock Music Center, 1232 Eight Mile Road, between 1 to 9 p.m. on June 21 to experience the joy of making music together. Scheduled for the day are: 1 p.m. drum circle; 2 p.m. group ukulele lesson; 3 p.m. harmonica circle; 4 to 6 p.m. open mic with Megan Wren and Tim Snyder; 6 to 7 p.m. local bands Puffincarp and the Salmon Boys; 7 p.m. Blue Steel Band; 8 p.m. The Kevin McCoy Band.  Food and beer will be available for purchase starting at 4 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or blanket.  This year more than 50 U.S. cities are organizing Make Music Day celebrations, encompassing thousands of concerts nationwide. Globally more than 750 cities in 120 countries are expected to observe the day.  Make Music Day is presented by the NAMM Foundation, and coordinated by the Make Music Alliance. Third Rock Music Center Celebrates Make Music Day with a Free Outdoor Interactive Jam

WHAT: Third Rock Music Center and Play It Forward, a non-profit organization, will host Make Music Day, is a global event taking place in over 750 cities around the world.

Highlights of this local event include the opportunity for musicians to jam along with various acts including; The Kevin McCoy Band, Blue Steel Band, Megan Wren and Tim Snyder. Open mic, free group Ukulele lessons, a drum circle and a Blue Grass Jam will also be available.

Make Music Day in Cincinnati will join other events worldwide as communities come together in celebration of music and the countless benefits that making music brings. Food and beer will be available for purchase from 6-9PM.

WHO: Third Rock Music Center and Play It Forward, a charitable 501 (3) C organization, are collaborating to host this event.
