My name is Isabelle Jones. I am a student at Northern Kentucky University majoring in music. I have been playing music since I was very young. My parents are both musicians so music runs in the family. I went to Loveland high school and participated in all of the band programs there. Marching band, concert band, and jazz band. My music participations started way before school. When I was about five years old I started taking piano lessons. I started flute in fifth grade and picked up the saxophone on the side when I was in sixth grade when I was about half way through seventh grade I made the official switch to saxophone in school. I started to take private lessons then too. By the time I graduated from high school I was taking three private lessons two for saxophone and one for clarinet.

Some of my non-school music participation involved going to a drum circle when I was in seventh grade at a coffee house in Batavia. I participated in that for about a year and then I had learned the coffee house closed down. When I was a sophomore in high school I started playing in the pit of community shows and I have been playing with the same group ever since. I also participated in some music prep department stuff at the Cincinnati College Conservatory. The summer before my senior year I got the opportunity to go to Montreat and take some classes from a lot of different church musicians which was really inspiring. I also got the opportunity to travel abroad my freshman year of college to France for a music class. I have been very fortunate to be able to have all of these opportunities.
