Larry Edward “Haze” Hazelbaker

 

Larry Edward “Haze” Hazelbaker (born April 9, 1964) is an American composer, singer, songwriter, and accomplished multi-instrumentalist whose career spans decades, genres, and some of the world’s most prestigious stages.

Born into a musical family, Haze is the son of acclaimed musicians Lloyd and Gloria Hazelbaker. At just five years old, he was discovered to have perfect pitch, setting the foundation for a lifelong dedication to music. He went on to study classical and jazz piano at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati and the Cincinnati School for Creative and Performing Arts.

By age seven, Haze was already performing on national television, appearing on The Paul Dixon Show and The Nick Clooney Show, with later performances on talk shows hosted by Craig Ferguson, Tony Danza, and John McEnroe.

Haze’s live performance résumé includes appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, CMA Awards, ACM Awards, CMT, and GAC, as well as multiple performances at the White House, the Pentagon, and U.S. military bases overseas. Over his career, he has written, recorded, or performed with an impressive roster of artists, including Bootsy Collins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dave Stewart, Carmine Appice, Chubby Checker, Pam Tillis, Wynonna Judd, Trisha Yearwood, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Darryl Worley, Richard Marx, Charlie Daniels, and Carrie Underwood

While touring with country artist Darryl Worley, Haze and the band received a gold record for the #1 hit single “Have You Forgotten?” (2003).

In addition to his work as a performer and recording artist, Haze has provided voices and jingles for Kui Hung Toys (2000–present) and Paper Magic (2004–2008). He is currently expanding into film composition, creating original scores for upcoming film projects.
