Used Columbia Parlor Guitar offered by Third Rock Music Center

Here is a rare Columbia parlor guitar in nice original condition from circa 1900 to 1925.  Very hard to find Spruce top with what we think could be Brazilian Rosewood sides and back model. This is a good project guitar, needing minor restoration but plays and sounds well.  Ladder braced, braces are solid and all are intact.  Guitar still wears it's original finish, with fine surface age checking all over. The neck looks to me to be made of Cherry, with a Rosewood heel cap. Ebony fingerboard in decent condition showing some light wear but still very decent, and the frets are quite decent as well. 18 brass-looking frets that look original to the guitar.  Original Ebony pyramid bridge with original wood bridge pins, original wood strap button on tail. Original tuners that work smoothly and look to have their original celluloid tuner buttons in good condition. The dimensions on this guitar are as follows: upper bout-9 inches, middle waist-7 inches, lower bout-12-1/4 inches. Sound hole diameter-3-1/2 inches.  Overall length of guitar is 36- inches. Guitar body measures 18 inches long. Thickness at tail end of guitar is 4 inches.  Scale length is24-1/8 inches. Fingerboard width at nut is 1-7/8 inches. Original Columbia label in the sound hole. The guitar has a celluloid bound bottom as well as around the sound hole. The back of the V shaped  neck shows some wear, and there are 3 or 4 tight  cracks on the back side of the guitar body. There is some cracking where the strap button is inserted.  Columbia guitars are highly desired for their great sound and exceptional tone, you can see and hear several people playing similar Columbia guitars of this era on YouTube to get an idea of their great sound.  This one should be a real prize with incredible tone thanks to it's nicely aged high grade tone woods.  The V Shaped neck is straight.  Overall, this guitar is in very nice condition for it's age.  The usual light scratches, small dings and small dents here and there.   If you are looking for a very original early Columbia guitar in the very best possible wood combination at a decent realistic price, this is it.
