Drawing inspiration from the legendary offset guitars of the past (the Fender Jaguar and Jazzmaster, and vintage Tiesco guitars to name a few), this Bridge Builder Guitars Hornet seeks to take the offset guitar into the world of 21st century exquisite custom guitars. Oh, and it's made by Neurotic Guitar Dorks in Ohio.
This 6-string guitar features a Flamed walnut top and back with a high gloss finish. The body core is Spanish Cedar with maple accent veneers on both the front and back. The 9-piece Wenge, purple heart and maple neck has a 25.5” scale, sports a birdseye maple fretboard with Jescar Evo frets and features Flamed walnut caps on the front and back of the headstock, as well as a maple cap on the heel, and is finished with our Bridge Builder Super Silk neck treatment (there is no better feeling neck finish in existence!). It's easy to see where your fingers need to be on a dark stage with our reflective and glow-in-the-dark Bridge Builder Bright-Glo side dots and flamed walnut block inlays on the fretboard face. The headstock face and back sport face caps cut from the same piece of flamed walnut as the top and back of the guitar, and maple accent pinstripes. The nut is made from Graphtech black Tusq that pairs well with the Graphtech saddles on the Schaller Hannes bridge. Gemini Mercury One humbuckers produce an incredibly wide range of tones utilizing Gemini's "dualbucker" option. Each pickup has its own "voice switch" that chooses between standard humbucker and a single-coil mode that adds about 1500 extra pickup winds to the single coil. This gives it a tone more like a P90 than a Fender-style single coil and reduced volume drop when in single coil mode. The output is via a Switchraft switchboard-style output jack designed to survive 100,000 in/out cycles. This guitar sounds as good as it looks, and with flawlessly executed fretwork and impossibly low action it plays even better. All this, and the guitar weighs in at a 6 lbs. 9.4 oz
