2019 Pursuit Cncert CE  Guitars

New for 2019, but available now, we're proud to introduce the smaller bodied Concertina to the Pursuit Series lineup. Based on the ever-popular Pursuit Concert platform, this smaller body guitar sounds warm and beautiful with a solid red cedar top and mahogany back, but with additional sound and projection from the Concertina body. This guitar is ideal for the player looking for a more nuanced sound with more tonal complexity, and a very comfortable playing experience. Featuring the popular LR Baggs EAS electronic system, it can also be plugged in for amplification. Learn more about the tonewoods, body shape and more under the Features tab.

Body Shape

New for 2018, is Breedlove’s small body guitar, delivering a surprisingly clear, crisp, loud sound. It’s 12-frets to the body design make it a joy to play. Extensive Sound Optimization™ engineering has resulted in a body shape that has a bigger sound and is more comfortable to play than a traditional parlor.

Breedlove Pinless Bridge

The Breedlove Pinless Bridge helps maintain the integrity of the top by eliminating the need for six drilled string holes. The fewer holes in your soundboard, the more evenly the sound wave can move across the interior, without any loss of energy. The Breedlove Pinless Bridge also provides a gentler string-break angle from the bridge to the top of the saddle, reducing saddle strain. This innovative bridge also makes string changes a breeze, especially on 12 strings. Plus, you’ll never again have to worry about lost, worn-out, or broken bridge pins.

Top Wood

For musicians who play the a variety of instrument, or are looking for a very specific tone offered by cedar, guitars made with this tonewood can offer a nice alternative to the spruces and other top tonewoods. This tonewood produces wonderful tones with a light touch, therefore it’s great for fingerstyle playing. If you are a fingerstyle player, then you will love the way this guitar amplifies the sound and tone.

This tonewood usually has a reddish and/or  brown color, which makes the guitars very attractive. The color can range from very darker  to much lighter in tone, so you have a wide variety of aesthetic options to choose from. This tonewood has a smooth textured surface that looks even more lustrous after finishing.

Back And Side Wood

Mahogany is a medium-lightweight wood, ranging in color from light brown to dark, primarily used for necks because of the feel and the stability it provides. Balanced, resonant tone with notable sustain. Thick bottom end, rich midrange, and controlled, warm top end. Found from southern Mexico through Central America and south to Brazil and Bolivia.  Mahogany is the national tree of Belize, where the national coat of arms features a mahogany tree with two woodcutters bearing an axes and paddle under the national motto, “Sub umbra florero,” which is Latin for “Under the shade I flourish.”
