Better comfort, tension, and tone thanks to multi-scale frets

Multi-scale frets are an exciting new trend in high-end bass guitar design. They yield a longer scale on the bass side of the instrument and a shorter scale on the treble side, offering you better intonation and more consistent tension and attack from string to string. And while getting used to them may look like it will be quite and undertaking, Sweetwater bassists insist that it's a very natural transition. And the better intonation, consistant string tension, and more open tone far outweigh any difference from other basses.

Open sound with more control with the Bartolini/Ibanez electronics

The mix of Ibanez's custom preamp and the dual Bartolini BH1 passive pickups gives you a detailed sound that can be tweaked for your tonal applications with surgical precision. The Ibanez preamp includes an active/passive switch. When the EQ bypass is activated, the treble tone control knob becomes the global tone control. And Bartolini is well established around bass players for delivering clear, warm performance via a dual-coil style configuration that maximizes articulation balanced string-to-string pickup response.

Mono-rail V bridge for ultimate string isolation

The Mono-rail V bridge installed on the SRFF805 solves the issue of too much string cross-talk some other basses struggle with. When you play a string, sympathetic vibrations can set the other strings into motion. But by separating the bridge into five independant units the Mono-rail V maximizes vibration transfer without interference from the other strings. Ibanez goes so far as to call the Mono-rail V, "the ultimate bridge for bass string isolation." Each bridge is independently and securely locked down to the body for maximum vibration transfer without interference.
